TGIF, Thank Games it’s Friday (The big guy upstairs already gets enough credit). I don’t know about you, but this week has been a roller coaster. Life has a way of pulling you into a hundred different directions, so take a seat in that sofa that your spouse hates, unwind and play some games! Sundays are a busy day for me now that football season is here, Go Patriots! (Send hate mail to Roger.Goodell2@nfl.com) so it’s all about being efficient with my gaming time. I find that not sleeping helps immensely! This week I spent a lot of time (and even more money) building my first ever Custom Computer. I was supposed to release an article about it today, but I’ve hit some snags with booting into the bios. (googling is for wimps!). So, that’s gonna be delayed. However, we have some fantastic options this week for games.

In honor of football season arriving, it feels only right to start this week’s list with Madden NFL ‘17. I personally don’t find the Madden games fun. I would rather watch the professionals take the hits on live TV while I watch with beer and BBQ in hand. I will admit that Madden NFL ‘17 looks top-notch in terms of graphics. I’m astounded every year by the advancement of the graphic quality but the games simply aren’t for me. I understand the appeal, you have a chance to play with your favorite team and play against other people online who play as their favorite team. If you’re dying to play some football, but you’re too lazy or tired to embrace the outdoors, give Madden NFL ‘17 a shot!

When my editor asked me what games I was writing about for this post, I got an eye roll the second I mentioned the word “Legion” I know I’ve mentioned World of Warcraft: Legion every week, but that’s because it’s still so fresh and there’s so much to do! Dungeons, world quests, heroic dungeons, mythic dungeons, order hall missions, playing the auction house, the World (of Warcraft) is your oyster! Once I figure out my Bios issue, the first game I’m slamming on that sweet SSD is the wonderful World Of Warcraft! After that’s finished downloading, it’s on to a game that will put my new machine to the test.

On August 21, 2007 a terrifying dystopian adventure became the topic of many lunchroom discussions and late night play sessions. This was one game however you didn’t want to play in the dark. ”No Gods or Kings, Just Men” I remember a banner saying as I was preparing for my first journey through Bioshock. This week we saw our favorite dystopian franchise get a horrifically beautiful facelift! Bioshock: The Collection has come to chill us to the bone again. I haven’t played a Bioshock game for the better part of 4 years and I am excited to relive every terrifying moment again this weekend. If you enjoy pure terror, heat pounding action, fantastic story and underwater landscapes, this one is for you!

Feel like walking around a bunch this weekend? Well, good on you! Need a buddy for those walks? Pokemon GO has got you covered. This week Pokemon GO released their newest update featuring the Buddy system. You get to pick one Pokemon to walk with you and it earns candies based on how many Km you travel with them as your buddy. This is a great way to earn candies for those rare Pokemon you’ve wanted to evolve. And there’s a special surprise if you walk with Pikachu for more than 10 Km, check it out, it’s pretty great.

This is the last weekend to play Destiny before Rise of Iron unlocks and all the new content swarms your console. Xbox 360 and PS3 have been left behind and now going forward, only current gen consoles will receive content patches and support. This is a transition that I’m happy about. While my 360 treated me well back in the day, it has long since been laid to rest and my Xbox One takes care of me now. If you’re a dedicated gamer, 400 dollars shouldn’t be too much to drop on a console that will run for the next 7 or 8 years. This weekend is also your last chance to earn those moment of triumphs!
That’s all I have for you guys today, I’ll be spending my weekend elbow deep into my new computer trying to fix what’s wrong or at Best Buy buying a replacement for when I light the whole thing on fire.

Don’t forget to take time out for friends and family. Stay classy everyone!
