SYNOPSIS

DR. CLIFF: WORLDWIDE VET is an inspiring and deeply personal documentary portrait of Canadian veterinarian Dr. Cliff Redford, whose boundless compassion and adventurous spirit have made him a global ambassador for animal welfare. Known affectionately as “Dr. Cliff,” Redford’s lifelong passion for animals began during childhood and led him to graduate from the prestigious Ontario Veterinary College in 1998. Only 18 months later, he purchased the Wellington Veterinary Hospital in Ontario, where he built a reputation for his veterinary expertise — along with his signature empathy and humor that comfort both pets and their owners.

But Dr. Cliff’s mission extends far beyond the clinic. A tireless volunteer and humanitarian, he travels the world offering veterinary care to animals in need — from street dogs in Jamaica to wildlife rescues across Africa and Asia. Through his popular YouTube channel and podcast, Dr. Cliff Worldwide Vet, he shares these experiences to raise awareness, educate fellow veterinarians, and inspire kindness. His motto, “Be Kind to Animals,” isn’t just a slogan, but the guiding principle behind his life’s work.

In the feature-length documentary, DR. CLIFF: WORLDWIDE VET, the titular doctor is joined by his daughter Emily as they face some of their most challenging rescues yet. After a young fox nearly dies in surgery, Emily and her father long to continue their wildlife rescue work and head back to India, where dogs, birds and monkeys face life-threatening danger during the celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

What We Thought:

Dr. Cliff: Worldwide Vet is for animal lovers. Other people won’t get much out of it, but people who love animals and their pets will enjoy it.

I’ve never heard of Dr. Cliff. If you have you’ll eat this documentary up. After a sort of cold open, the animal doctor heads to India with his daughter. There they help all kinds of animals including a pigeon stuck to a building while traffic buzzes below it. You either find this fascinating and heartwarming or you don’t.

I honestly don’t have much to say about Dr. Cliff: Worldwide Vet. I’m not the target audience, but I’m sure they’ll love it. If you want to see a vet going above the call of duty you’ll like it. His daughter seems like she’ll be following in his footsteps as she travels with him. If you want something to watch with the family it does make for a good documentary for the kiddos.
