Loch Ness Series 1:
Set against Scotland’s hauntingly beautiful landscapes, this tense thriller follows Annie Redford (Laura Fraser, Breaking Bad, The Missing), a small-town detective thrown into her first murder case. When a man is found dead at the bottom of a cliff, DCI Lauren Quigley (Siobhan Finneran, Downton Abbey, Happy Valley) arrives to lead the inquiry, along with forensic psychologist Blake Albrighton (Don Gilet, EastEnders). The local police clash with these outsiders, but when more bodies turn up, the team theorizes that a serial killer is stalking the shores of Loch Ness.
As the case swells to engulf the whole town, Annie becomes immersed in the investigation, unintentionally pushing away her husband (Gray O’Brien, Coronation Street) and teenage daughter (Shona McHugh). With grief, terror, and suspicion shattering her community, Annie strives to expose the monster hiding in plain sight.
Janet King Series 3:
Award-winning actress Marta Dusseldorp returns as senior crown prosecutor Janet King in this “unnervingly intricate, dark, but steadily intriguing” (The Wall Street Journal) Australian legal drama. After a young cricket player’s suicide, Janet is seconded to the National Crime Commission and tasked with investigating the links between gambling, professional sports, and organized crime.
The shocking death of a key witness further complicates the already tangled web of intrigue, and Janet faces an ethical dilemma when an estranged family member becomes a person of interest to the commission. As the mystery unfolds, Janet and her team uncover a high-stakes world of match fixing, performance-enhancing drugs, money laundering, and murder. This “astutely realized mystery” (The Australian) also stars Damian Walshe-Howling (The Reef), Christopher Morris (Home and Away), and Don Hany (Serangoon Road).
Line of Duty Series 4:
In the newest series of Jed Mercurio’s acclaimed police drama, Thandie Newton stars as DCI Roz Huntley. Under the intense scrutiny of her superiors, Roz and her team track down and charge a suspected serial murderer. But when the chief forensic investigator (BAFTA winner Jason Watkins, W1A) begins to doubt the young man’s guilt, he seeks the help of AC-12, believing that Roz could be ignoring key evidence in order to close the career-defining case.
AC-12’s Superintendent Hastings (Adrian Dunbar, Ashes to Ashes) places DS Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure, Broadchurch, The Secret Agent) undercover inside Roz’s team, while DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston, The Great Train Robbery) puts pressure on Roz from the outside. As suspicions against Roz mount and the case becomes ever more complex, AC-12 itself comes under threat.
