When Stevie D (Chris Cordone), the only son of an LA construction magnate, accidentally kills a connected wiseguy, his father, Angelo (John Aprea) is left with few options. Working with his confidant, Lenny (Kevin Chapman), they devise a plan that puts Stevie into hiding while an unknown, look-alike actor, Michael Rose (also Cordone), is hired to fill his shoes. What Rose doesn’t know won’t kill him – then again, it might — in this original crime dramedy, an Official Selection at the 2016 Newport Beach and Sarasota Film Festivals, and winner of the “Director’s Choice” Award at this year’s Sedona International Film Festival. This December, it makes its home entertainment debut on DVD and all leading digital platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Hulu and Vudu.
Down on his luck, Michael Rose was heading nowhere fast. But as Stevie D, he becomes immersed in a completely new life, winning people over in ways that surprise Angelo and Lenny — and make their lives far more complicated. He’s also fallen in love with Daria Laurentis (Torrey DeVitto), the daughter of Anglo’s lawyer (Spencer Garrett), and the two are forced to find ways to hide their illicit romance. How far can Michael go before revealing his true identity? And how long will it take Stevie to figure out that Michael is living his own life better than he did?
With the mob still on Stevie D’s trail, is there a way out for anyone in this film called “an indie to see!” (Starpulse.com) from multi-hyphenate writer/director/producer/star Cordone, making his feature film debut.
