Synopsis: Four years after he inadvertently took on the Russian mob, Hutch remains $30 million in debt to the criminal organization and is working it off with an unending string of hits on international thugs.

What We Thought:
Nobody was a surprise gem a few years back and I was highly looking forward to Nobody 2. With the bulk of the cast returning for the sequel, I was eager to catch up with Hutch and his family. After seeing the film, I was not disappointed. These movies are made for people like me and I hope it does well enough for us to get No3ody!
I’ve been a fan of Bob Odenkirk for years. Whether it’s his comedic projects or his turn to drama in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Bob is awesome, but no one expected him to become an action star. Until a real life home invasion inspired Nobody that is. And it’s Bob’s everyman look and personality that makes these movies so fun. Every guy has fantasized about what he would do when push comes to shove and Bob gets to live those dreams out for us as Hutch. Hutch has a past cleaning up messes, but he tried to put it all behind him until Russians got involved in the first film and now this time around it’s a small town crime syndicate.
Movies like this arguably don’t need much of a plot nor do I want them to. Here Hutch decides he needs to take a break from doing jobs to pay off his debts from the first film so he takes his family on a vacation to a rundown amusement/water park he went to as a kid. He wants to make the memories he had as a kid with his own kids. Of course wherever Hutch goes bad news follows and soon he finds himself fighting at an arcade, getting tied up with corrupt cops and the baddies who run the underworld of the town. Sharon Stone plays the badass villain and she monumentally chews the scenery throughout. If Bob is the unexpected good guy, Miss Stone is easily the unexpected bad gal. She must have had a ball playing this role because it certainly looks like she did. If Christopher Lloyd blasting dudes with shotguns in Nobody caught you off guard, just wait till you meet Sharon Stone’s character.
Again that’s why these movies work, the unexpected performances. Christopher Lloyd is back as Hutch’s dad as is RZA as his brother. They all get great action sequences again. Even Hutch’s family gets a little more action under their belts too. Add in the amusement/water park location and I had so much fun with the violence, action and over-the-top performances.
There’s only one scene that really bothered me in Nobody 2 and if you don’t know anything about card games you won’t even notice. Other than that, Nobody 2 continues the fantastic run action movies are having in 2025. Like Love Hurts, Novocaine, and Ballerina, Nobody 2 will be another 2025 action movie I add to my physical media collection when available. If you are a fan of the first film you’ll love Nobody 2. Some of the guys around me said it might be better than the first. I think they are both fantastic. If you’re a fan of Nobody and you’ve been wondering if Hutch will eventually get the trash out in time for pick up, then Nobody 2 is…
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
