Synopsis:
After being suspended from their agency due to a rules violation, two highly skilled teenage assassins are forced to get “real” jobs to make ends meet. But while the elite duo is forbidden from executing targets or enemies under any circumstances, two aspiring rival hitmen decide to eliminate the competition while they’re vulnerable—leading to a lightning-fast showdown between trained killers.

What We Thought:
Baby Assassins 2 suffers from the same issues the first film had, there’s simply not enough action. The concept of these films works great on paper, but the resulting films leave me wanting more and somewhat frustrated.
I could literally copy and paste my review of the first film from 2022 for its sequel. The resulting film is slow and doesn’t have enough action. The final action sequence is great. That’s what I said about Baby Assassins and it’s 100% accurate here. Too much time is spent on the daily lives of the two female leads and not enough time being an action flick. There’s a bank robbery scene, a sequence where we meet the two male antagonists and then the great final action sequence.
I understand you need some filler, but my biggest issue with the sequel is, I find the girls so annoying. They get themselves into trouble by not paying their bills and not acting like adults. The bank robbery sequence only happens because they have to pay a bill they didn’t know about. Neither girl character is one I care about so at no point would I be sad if either of them died.
I think the problem is that neither lead can carry a big action set piece so they fill in the runtime with jokes and annoying teen/early 20s storylines. I don’t find either girl likable so it’s just frustrating to watch because the limited action is really good.
Yet again the third act action is solid though. The two female leads vs. the two male bad guys is a great fight. If the film was more like that I would love this franchise, but as they are, I really can’t get into them. Maybe the girl characters get lost in translation and as an American I don’t get what’s so funny about them and it’s why I don’t like the girls, but something about them just doesn’t work for me. If you loved Baby Assassin you’ll love Baby Assassins 2, but as for me, I’m hoping the series ends and a third film doesn’t come my way in two years.
