Synopsis:

The world as we know it is gone. The few remaining survivors exist in a burnt out world of fear, pain and the undead. Two survivors, once friends, join together to make their way through the wasteland while hunted by bands of cannibalistic maulers, evil scientists and the hungry living dead at every turn. A unique and bizarre visual experience unlike any post-apocalyptic zombie film ever made.

What We Thought:

Absolute Zombies is an absolute mess that I thoroughly enjoyed.

It’s a laughably bad movie. I mean LAUGH OUT LOUD bad. You might question what you’re watching. No, you will question that.

But that’s why it’s so darn entertaining. Within minutes you get one of the most laughable things you’ll ever see. The lead actress kills a zombie with a tool while fixing her car and the special effects are definitely special. The post production eyes popping out made me stop the DVD, rewind it, watch it again then at the end of the movie, go back and watch that scene again.

The film is a mix of live action and green screen effects. It’s not quite The Amazing Bulk type effects, but it’s up there. There’s a car chase scene between a car and a van that will have you smiling and pointing.

Then there’s the action and killing scenes. The explosions, gunshots, and zombie kills are so over the top bad that you swear you and a buddy could make a better movie with your cell phone and crap around your house. I’m pretty sure I have.

All the zombie kills look so bad you’ll be shaking your head. There’s a scene on a hill where they shoot and kick zombies that had me giggling like a schoolgirl. Call me weird, but I love this stuff.

Absolute Zombies is a joke of a movie, but I laughed at that joke. The audio is pretty terrible though. I think the movie is dubbed because I had a hard time hearing the dialogue. Not that you really care about the dialogue in a movie like this. If you like horrifically bad zombie movies with some of the absolute worst effects you’ll ever see, then this is…
