The series follows the thrilling adventures of Michael Knight, a detective thought to be dead, who’s been given a new face and identity. His assignment: to fight crime with the help of an artificially intelligent, talking car named K.I.T.T., a high-speed, futuristic weapon outfitted with high-tech gadgets and a personality of its own.

Season 2 – Ride shotgun with mysterious crime fighter Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) and the hottest car on four wheels, K.I.T.T., as they chase elusive criminals in each action-packed episode. The heart-pounding second season of Knight Rider packs in even more thrills, more high-speed chases, and more full-throttle excitement with dynamic duo Michael Knight and K.I.T.T. in the action series that left all others in the dust.

Knight Rider Season 1 & 2

What We Thought:

Growing up, Knight Rider was an “adult” show I could watch as a kid. It was on at night, had a hot car, women, action and fighting, but I remember being allowed to watch it because overall it was family friendly. At least for the 1980’s.

Rewatching the show now, it’s kind of cheesy and corny by today’s standards, but you know what? It’s still pretty fun. This is what made David Hasselhoff a star long before Baywatch and long before he became “The Hoff”.

Hasselhoff embodied everything that was Michael Knight. He was pretty cool, wore a cool jacket and had a talking car. Yeah a talking car! Is there anything more 80’s than a talking car? Nope.

And is there anything more 80’s than buddies solving crime? Again, nope. Sure one was human and the other a talking car, but again, it’s a talking car. And what a car it was. It’s iconic and sold tons of toys.

The show is classic crime solving too. Everything wrapped up in one episode with some stories running multiple episodes or throughout a season.

Highlight episodes of Season 1 & 2 include, stopping a nuclear sale, the gang war between the Scorpions and Road Dogs, the water being cut off by a rich landowner, Michael going undercover of the Corazones de Piedras, Michael being charged with murder, the cat burglar, K.I.T.T. being in a TV set, the bone marrow transplant episode, and the season 2 ending of the big construction equipment heist.

Knight Rider Season 1 & 2 have been out on DVD before, but Mill Creek has them at great low prices. It was cool rewatching the show and I actually remembered quite a few episodes. It’s a good way to reminisce and remember growing up so for that, it is…
