Synopsis:
One of the most talked about cult Superhero movie mockbusters ever made! Henry Howard is an ambitious young scientist who takes an experimental serum for building muscle mass and is transformed into the Bulk, sending him on a bizarre and destructive rampage of revenge from which he may never return, in a world that does not understand him and wants to destroy him.

What We Thought:
The Amazing Bulk is one of the best “worst” movies in the history of existence. There aren’t enough words to describe what my eyes witnessed.
For some reason, the film is live action actors in front of green screens with computer animation behind them. At least I think that’s what it is. I’ve never seen anything like it and probably never will again.
The best part is the actors “interact” with the computer animation. They “sit” in cars, “fly” in a helicopter, “ride” a train. The people are literally just standing or sitting and not actually in the vehicles. The vehicles are animated and the actors pretend to be in them.
Then there’s the “running” scenes or any type of movement. The actors run in place as the back dropped animation moves. Most of it is the same scenes repeating themselves.
Speaking of running, anytime The Bulk runs, it’s the funniest thing you’ll see this year. The purple animated blob seems to wiggle or scoot more than actually run or move. It’s hysterical.
What’s also hysterical is the bad guy and his castle. The guards of his castle look like they are holding swords, weapons and shields you buy at Toys R Us for a child. I’m pretty sure his electrical energy gun is just a Nerf gun that’s been spray painted. Plus the actor playing the bad guy looks, sounds and acts preposterous.
All that being said, The Amazing Bulk is still a movie that entertained the heck out of me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s terrible, monumentally terrible, but I had a blast with it. I laughed out loud many times (at it, not with it) and had to stop the movie a couple of times to rewind what I just saw. I’ve already shown the trailer to numerous people and have talked to others about the movie. It’s up there with The Room, Manos and other horrifically terrible yet entertaining in their own way movies.
