Synopsis:
The final season presents our heroes with challenges unlike any they’ve ever faced. Cut off from the world by a mysterious fog bank, Haven is on its own. Through journeys into the past, the future, and the very fabric between worlds, events in Haven hurtle towards a cataclysmic showdown. Tensions rise, allegiances shift, and in a harrowing closing chapter, the mystery of “Croatoan” is finally revealed.

What We Thought:
Haven was always a show I wanted to love, but only liked. It has a lot I like about it, but it never got to be “must see” TV for me.
The Final Season was pretty good. We finally learned who Croatoan was and I won’t spoil it because it’s a HUGE name in science fiction. Characters go through multiple arcs including one that thinks they must give the ultimate sacrifice. Plus a few older characters pop up in the end.
I think my biggest issue with the show was it never stuck to one genre. At times it was as supernatural as Supernatural. Other times it was more science-fiction like like Warehouse 13 or even The X-Files. The final season is more sci-fi than supernatural, but there are definitely supernatural elements in it.
The best part of the show is the back drop. Small town Maine makes for a very interesting character in its own right. The town folk, the water, the town itself all add depth and a different take on typical sci-fi. It reminds me of Wayward Pines in that way.
The show looks great on Blu-ray. The sci-fi elements, the water, the sky, the land all pop in full HD. Audio quality is top notch as well. Plus the Blu-ray is packed with bonus features including interviews with cast members and audio commentary.
I was never a diehard fan of Haven, but I’m glad I caught up and watched The Final Season. Overall I like how the show ended and began again. If you watch the show, you’ll understand. The big name surprise was pretty awesome too. Because of all that, this is
